Abstract

|
|
With the increased average life span, the percentage of the elderly is continuously growing. Obesity is a complex
multifactorial chronic disease and an emerging epidemic health problem in the elderly. Its relationship with periodontitis
has been well studied in recent years. But the underlying biological mechanism is still not clear. The aim of this review is to get an overview of the characteristics of obesity in the elderly and association between obesity and periodontitis.
